Hello, my name is Kyle. I started the Ike Stories Project on September 17th, 2008 as an ongoing artistic approach to helping Houston/Galveston/Galveston Bay Area victims of Hurricane Ike recover emotionally and spiritually from the storm. I record their stories in their own voices, which for some is a way to find closure. The project will also serve as a historical record of the feelings, experiences, observations, and revelations of those whose lives Ike has affected. I want to hear your compelling story related to the storm. Since I have a regular "day job," I prefer for people to use the Contact page to request a recording session.

The primary medium for these recordings is audio, but I have also incorporated photography into a multimedia work for an exhibition called Flotsam and Jetsam at The Arts Alliance Center at Clear Lake. This exhibition ran from late August through October 8th, 2009.

Here are a couple excerpts from some of the stories in that piece:

Friends of the Ike Stories Project:

Want to help? Of course I don’t want to take any resources away from the people who still need them. However, if you have already donated to a disaster relief agency such as the Red Cross, Interfaith Caring Ministries, the Houston Food Bank, the Houston SPCA, Bay Area Pet Adoptions, or your church, synagogue, or mosque and still have a few dollars you’re willing to give, then please consider donating to this project to help defray the project’s expenses (web hosting, phone bills, equipment, etc.). If you have any surplus equipment to contribute, take a look at the list of wanted items to see if you have something the project needs.
